Fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam, and all Muslims must fast during the holy month of Ramadan. However, not all Muslims know the various rulings and obligations that go along with fasting. In his book, Matters Related to Fasting , author Muhammad Salih AlMunajjid analyzes the various rules and etiquettes that go along with fasting. He explains, for example, when it is obligatory for Muslims to fast, when it is forbidden to do so, and when it is optional. He also explains what is permissible and not permissible to do while fasting. This is an excellent book for all Muslims, and especially for new converts who will experience their first Ramadan.

Thorough guide on fasting
Excellent overview on fasting. Especially helpful are the acts that could break a fast and that do not break the fast. Just a note: Those people who intend to travel by air should be well aware which kind of itinerary does not impact of their fast (N to S) and those that will extend their fast unreasonably (E to W).
