In the book Hidden Sins: The Greatest Danger in the Life of Muslims by Dr. Al-Bouti, the author believes that most Muslims today are inclined to analyzing Islam and presenting the situation of Muslims based on their outward actions and words, discarding the inward actions of the hear–intention, sincerity and goodness. For example, if one were to examine a building, he/she cannot see the foundation and its condition outwardly. But a strong, good foundation is nevertheless integral to the stability of the building. The same is true in regard to a person’s heart: A good, strong heart is needed to build a strong, good person. Since this is the case, how can Muslims start rebuilding the Islamic world on the proper foundation of sound hearts, such that the building is strong and does not get knocked down by the winds of whim or the pressure of tyranny? This book seeks to answer this question and address the issue of bringing Islam to the outward, apparent aspects of life based on inward goodness.

وفي كتاب “باطن الإثم الخطر الأكبر في حياة المسلمين” يرى الدكتور البوطي ان أكثر المسلمين اليوم منصرفون إلى تحليل الإسلام وتقديم واقع المسلمين من خلال الأعمال والأقوال الظاهرة وحدها، وإنما هذه الأعمال والأقوال أدوار فوقية من البناء الإسلامي، لا تقوى ولا تثبت إلا اعتمادا على ذلك الجزء الخفي المتواضع من البناء الذي يسمى: الأساس، ومتسقرّ هذا الأساس هو القلب، فكيف يستقرّ فيه أساس البناء الإسلامي؟ وكيف يتم الاتصال بينه وبين الأدوار الفوقية لذلك البناء، بحيث يضمن المسلمون ألا تطيرها الرياح، ولا تقوضها قوى الطغيان والشهوات؟ ومهمة هذا الكتاب، هي الإجابة على هذه الأسئلة، والكشف عن سبل الاتصال بين الحياة الإسلامية في باطن القلب، والحياة الإسلامية على ظاهر الأعضاء.
