Are there any indicators that we have achieved Allah’s love? The answer is, “yes.” One of the signs that Allah loves someone is the acceptance of others he/she attains. The Prophet (pbuh) said, in the ḥadīth collected by al-Bukhārī on the authority of Abū Hurayrah:
“If Allah loves a person, He calls Gabriel saying: ‘Allah loves so and so; O Gabriel, love him.’ Gabriel in turn loves him. Gabriel then proclaims among the residents of the Heaven: ‘Allah loves so-and-so; therefore, you should love him also.’ So, all the residents of the Heavens in turn love him/her. He/she is then granted the acceptance of the earth’s inhabitants.”
