An increasing number of Muslim youth are growing up in non-Muslim countries, under the influence of Western culture and its sexually promiscuous environment. As they come of age, the issues of sexuality and marriage are becoming increasingly worrisome for both the youth and their parents. This booklet has been written to present the Islamic approach to those issues and concerns.

It challenges the parents of Muslim youth to re-examine their paradigms in the light of Islamic teachings, so as to help their children live Islamically. To the youth, it presents a healthy Islamic perspective on the myriad issues surrounding sex and marriage arising due to a clash of cultures and the resultant confusion in their minds. For them, it can serve as a guide for finding a soulmate, getting married, and satisfying their natural needs in accordance with Islamic teachings.

The analysis and reasoning presented here is based on insight gained during more than a quarter century of experience in carrying out Islamic and community work in Canada, including the observations made in the process of facilitating marriages, officiating marriages, and counselling married couples and single youth.
