About
The Clear Deen — Islamic Studies Curriculum (Grades 1–5)
The Clear Deen is a comprehensive Islamic studies curriculum for children in Grades 1–5, created to make learning Islam engaging, practical, and meaningful. Rather than relying solely on memorization, the curriculum uses storytelling, illustrations, activities, discussion, reflection, and real-life application to help children understand and live their deen.
Each grade includes 30 lessons organized around seven essential areas of Islamic learning:
-
Story Time — Islamic manners, character, and values through engaging stories
-
Worship Time — Essential fiqh, including purification, prayer, fasting, and other acts of worship
-
Sirah Time — Lessons from the life and legacy of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
-
Faith Time — Aqidah, tawhid, Allah’s beautiful names, and foundational beliefs
-
Quran Time — Tafsir and reflection on selected Quranic passages, along with important Quran vocabulary
-
History Time — Stories of the Prophets and inspiring figures from Islamic history
-
Azkar Time — Daily duas, remembrance of Allah, and important Islamic phrases
Engaging & Interactive Learning
The curriculum incorporates several educational approaches, including Engage–Study–Activate (ESA), Bloom’s Taxonomy, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL). Students are encouraged not only to learn Islamic concepts but also to ask questions, think critically, participate in activities, and apply what they learn in everyday life.
Lessons include stories, illustrations, role-playing, discussions, hands-on activities, creative projects, reflection questions, personal affirmations, and exit tickets.
Flexible for Schools & Homeschooling
The Clear Deen is designed for Islamic schools, weekend schools, homeschooling families, and parents teaching their children at home. Teachers and parents can choose between a unified approach, where related subjects are taught together, or a rotating approach that introduces different subjects throughout the year.
With workbooks, pacing charts, lesson objectives, activities, and answer keys, the curriculum provides a structured yet flexible way to nurture Islamic knowledge, character, and spiritual growth.
The Clear Deen helps children move beyond simply knowing Islamic information—to understanding, internalizing, and applying their deen in their daily lives.
