About
This book "The treatise on Anatomy of Human Body and Interpretation of Philosophers" was written sometimes towards 1632 A.D. The Treatise epitomes two important trends. The first one being the growing consciousness and need of the Ottoman scientists to write important works on medical sciences in the Turkish language, the trend was proclaimed towards the fifteenth century, through the significant contribution of Sherfad-Din Sabucuoglu, and Muhiddin of Sinop; the second one being, apart from relying on the towering personalities of Muslim medical scientists such as Hunayn bin Ishaq, Ali bin Abbas and Avicenna, to also imbue this knowledge with contribution made to anatomy and other medical sciences by the Europeans. Shams al-Din al-Itaqi of Shirwan could easily be termed as the initiator of the second trend in the Ottoman Empire.
